It started with one fridge.
We opened in 2020 in an old bike repair shop on Cedar Street, with a long marble bar, a second-hand wine fridge and twelve bottles we really believed in.

2020
Twelve bottles
The first list fit on a postcard. We poured everything by the glass so nobody had to gamble on a whole bottle, and talked a lot of people into their first orange wine.
2022
The kitchen
Two years in we built a tiny kitchen behind the bar: bread, cheese and a few hot plates. It turned a place for one glass into a place for the whole evening.
Today
The list
Forty-odd bottles open at any time, nearly all from growers we’ve met. Half the bar is never booked, and plenty of our regulars found us by walking past.
“I wanted a bar where you could ask a silly question about wine and get a good answer.”
